Rails-to-Trails Greenway Sojourn Ride the Great Allegheny Passage from D.C. to Pittsburgh this June 23-30! The public is invited to join the sojourners on the last day of their ride from McKeesport (lunch stop @ the Palisades) to Southside Works or any points between!
Community Trail Art & Engagement Initiative This two-year initiative will raise awareness about the rich cultural history and natural features of the Steel Valley Trail as part of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). Working with students and communities along the trail, the Initiative aims to produce 50 unique hand-painted banners to welcome the 500 Greenway Sojourners as they enter McKeesport and complete their ride at Southside Works. Help us design and paint banners through several school programs and community workshops May - June! Following the Sojourn, banner painting will continue to educate and invest communities in their section of the trail, while the SVTC assists these communities to develop ongoing trail stewardship. Youth Earn & Learn Program A youth a summer leadership program to connect youth to local nature and culture through art, funded in part by the SVTC.
